Esta freguesia foi criada em 1985, por desmembramento de Odivelas; foi elevada a vila em 16 de Agosto de 1991.
Foi extinta (agregada) pela reorganização administrativa de 2012/2013, sendo o seu território integrado na União das Freguesias de Pontinha e Famões.
A Pontinha faz fronteira com as freguesias de Famões e Odivelas (no concelho de Odivelas), Alfornelos, Brandoa, São Brás (no concelho da Amadora) e Carnide (no concelho de Lisboa). 
A Pontinha tem por orago a Sagrada Família.

Pontinha is a former Portuguese parish in the municipality of Odivelas.
This parish was created in 1985, by dismemberment of Odivelas; it was elevated to town on August 16, 1991.
It was extinct (aggregated) by the administrative reorganization of 2012/2013, being its territory integrated in the Union of the Parishes of Pontinha and Famões.
Pontinha borders the parishes of Famões and Odivelas (in the municipality of Odivelas), Alfornelos, Brandoa, São Brás (in the municipality of Amadora) and Carnide (in the municipality of Lisbon). 
Pontinha is named after the Holy Family.
