It was approved by the Assembly of the Republic, on July 11, 1985, the law that created the parish of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, in the municipality of Aveiro. It was one of the few suburban or rural parishes whose headoffices do not correspond to the local name. The building of the parish council is located between the two places that make up the same edility, that is, Mamodeiro and Póvoa do Valado. It was extinguished in 2013, as part of a national administrative reform, having been added to the parishes of Requeixo and Nariz, to form a new parish called Requeixo, Nossa Senhora de Fátima and Nose of which it is the headquarters.
